  1. Benchmark- a standard by which something can be measured or judged
  • This sculpture sets the benchmark of quality.
  • Conducted study shows results that are used as a benchmark of success.
  1. Haunting- beautiful, sad of frightening in the way that cannot be forgotten
  • Today I heard a haunting melody and it just doesn’t want to go of my mind.
  • When he came there he was amazed by haunting beauty of this place.
  1. Tickle- to move your fingers on a sensitive part of sb’s body in the way that makes them laugh
  • Jim tickled her feet with a feather.
  • When someone is tickling me I can’t stop laughing.
  1. Grueling- very difficult and tiring, needing great effort for a long time
  • I’ve had a grueling week.
  • Driving a car for a long time can be really grueling.
